Today’s guest is a mother, author, business & content strategist, coach, podcaster, and blind spot reducer. She is the author of “Boss Mom: The Ultimate Guide to Raising a Business & Nurturing Your Family Like a Pro,” and the founder of Boss Mom. She serves Boss Moms who yearn for more time and less guilt when it comes to building their business and raising their family, by providing the tools they need to get more out of their content and business, without sacrificing their family goals.

Her Boss Mom Movement is all about losing the guilt when it comes to raising babies and businesses at the same time, and believes that pursuing our passions and building our dreams while including our children in the process, is the best way to build thriving businesses and families.

As a work-at-home dad with a toddler and newborn, I’m thrilled to welcome Boss Mom Dana Malstaff.

In this episode we explore:

  • her thoughts on leadership: “I see leadership as helping other people lead” and “I love the word movement because leadership, to me, creates movement. It creates a current where everyone feels like they have a little push to move forward with.”
  • her views on creating influencers and the role it plays in her desire to reach other people.
  • how her move from Columbus, Ohio to San Diego, California was the catapult to her successful Boss Mom empire.
  • how she uses focused logic to help her determine what efforts she spends her time on and which ones she needs to hire someone else to take care of.
  • how people can focus on what really matters so they can stop being overly busy with minimal productivity.
  • her views on everyone being equal and valuable, and how that influences her conversations and relationships with others.

Today’s guest is an award-winning business owner, author, and recovering academic. She taught business communication at a university for over a decade, analyzed terrorist documents to help provide counter-terrorism messaging strategies to the military, and was a pioneer in the online education space.
In 2011, she ventured into entrepreneur land and hasn’t looked back. She’s a VIP Contributor at Entrepreneur, a Livestream Host, and a partner on Entrepreneur’s video network. Now, she runs The Dynamic Communicator®, which creates and executes video and content communication strategies that help organizations increase sales, enhance the product experience, and retain customers. Her latest book, “Dynamic Communication: 27 Strategies to Grow, Lead, and Manage Your Business,” was released through Entrepreneur Press this past spring.

Please join me in welcoming  Jill Schiefelbein

In this episode we explore:

  • her thoughts on leadership: “Leadership is being consistent with all your behaviors and all of your actions in all situations.”
  • her motivation for being a leader, starting around age 9, and continuing through her life.
  • the new side-endeavor where her goal is to “rid the world of crappy videos one video tip at a time.”
  • her biggest struggles surrounding the “riches are in the niches” mindset and how she works to overcome them.
  • what she does in her spare time to turn off her busy mind, and how crafting gives her a sense of completeness that offsets the entrepreneur struggle of sometimes not seeing results right away.
  • her methods for maintaining relationships, including connecting with people when she travels, and writing a few hand-designed cards each week.

Today’s guest believes that company culture trumps strategy every time and that storytelling is an essential part of creating a business. He has a successful track record as a leader with a strong focus on sales and customer engagement.

As part of Eloquas executive team, he helped lead the company from $0 to over $100 million in revenue, then through IPO and a successful acquisition for $957 million by Oracle.

Most recently, he is the CEO and Co-Founder of Nudge.ai. He and his co-founder knew that the best sales professionals understand that people buy from people they know, like, and trust. In a world that’s becoming overloaded with information, it’s becoming harder to build trusted, authentic relationships with buyers and existing customers. Their answer was to build a modern sales platform that uses artificial intelligence to provide sales teams with actionable insights on their target customers.

Please join me in welcoming Paul Teshima

In this episode we explore:

  • his thoughts on leadership: “Some people are good managers but they are not good leaders. Other people are good leaders but they are not good managers. Great leadership is about how you make people feel when they are doing things. A great leader makes people feel good about themselves and the work they are doing.”
  • how his passion for the journey of meeting people and growing a team led him and his co-founder to start Nudge.ai.
  • his observations of thousands of deals and sales cycles that taught him that the best salespeople are the ones who are able to build trust with their customers.
  • how he desires to help salespeople better manage their networks and leverage them, and to offer them support to be better at building relationships.
  • his belief that weak connections are actually a great thing because it is the only way to expose yourself to different opportunities and ways of thinking.
  • how he makes it a point to connect with someone who has had meaning in his life every single day.

My guest today cooks on TV, plays music in the streets, and often finds her foot in her mouth. She also happens to be an Ivy League neurobiologist; speaks six languages; and has had her writing published by Forbes, CNN, VogueRolling Stone, and Edible Boston. She’s the founder of Mad Bod, a program through which she helps women who feel desperate, hopeless, and stuck in their bodies to feel fit, focused, and free for life.

The queen of starting over, she has learned the art of forming deep connections through curiosity, courage, and taking chances, despite the fact that she says her alter-ego is Larry David.

Please join me in welcoming Rayna Jhaveri

In this episode we explore:

  • her thoughts on leadership: “Leadership is being at the front of the parade and helping others with direction and speed. I used to always stand in the front row because I am short. Now I can’t imagine being anywhere else.”
  • her view of people as a human puzzle, and how her love of understanding other people has helped her be a better leader.
  • her recent major breakthrough that came when she realized she had spent most of her life trying to be who she thought she was supposed to be and flipped her mindset to accepting who she actually is.
  • her views on how people are people no matter how famous they are, and how that mindset has led her to meeting and developing relationships with an amazing variety of people, both famous and not.
  • how she stresses genuine gratitude and connecting to others through abundance and authenticity.
  • how her journey to feel better about herself lead to her starting a successful business teaching women how to change their lifestyles to feel better about themselves.
